hss

hss (hash-slinging slasher) is a lightweight security multi-tool (scanner using malwarebazaar's plain text database, benchmark, sys info, backup, password manager, cleanup, that has been in sporadic development for about seven months now, starting in march. below are the available & latest versions (these are not being updated, new versions with new features are being built based off of previous versions until development of the full 1.0 is complete.)

latest version is 0.6.i am not responsible for loss of data caused by your use of hss or its features, use at your own risk. this is not intended as a full replacement for anti-virus software, do not use it as such.

• 0.6 - october 27, 2025:
  implements an internet/network connection watchdog + quarantining threats rather than deleting.
• 0.5 - july 2025:
  attempts to fix file vault.
• 0.4 - july 2025:
  added a (mostly working) file vault system for directories up to 32MB in size. it does cause minor issues in at least NTFS though so be wary.
• 0.3 - april 2025:
  added a (broken) backup system, password manager, disk cleanup & (broken) ping test.
• 0.2 - march 2025:
  added a very basic RAM benchmark and system information.
• 0.1 - march 2025:
  includes a basic scanner & cmd access.
